Bishop Estévez has assembled an Ad Hoc Committee to discuss and discern the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass and the implementation of Pope Francis’ recent motu proprio, Traditiones Custodes, in the Diocese of St. Augustine.
We are grateful that our very own Father Briggs Hurley has been appointed as a member of this committee, and we pray for his role as our representative.
In light of this news, we are encouraging you and your families to offer a 54-Day Rosary Novena, to begin this Thursday, October 7 (feast of Our Lady of the Rosary) through Monday, November 29, as we beseech Our Lady’s intercession to protect and defend the celebration of the usus antiquior in our diocese, and that the Holy Spirit will inspire and stir the hearts of those on the committee with a profound grace and newfound appreciation for the traditional liturgy and our sacred patrimony.
Our Lady of the Rosary, ora pro nobis!
Christus vincit, Christus regnat, Christus imperat!
