New Priest Assignments

Bishop Pohlmeier has granted Father Briggs Hurley’s request for a sabbatical (effective
immediately). Father Hurley has discerned a need to address personal matters for his health and
well-being. Please keep Father Briggs Hurley in your prayers during the medical leave of absence. If
you would like to write a note to Father Hurley, please send it to our parish office.

At the same time, Bishop Pohlmeier has appointed Father Rodolfo Godinez as a parochial vicar
effective June 1, 2023. Father Rodolfo Godinez, who has been serving for many years as a parochial
vicar at San Jose Parish, is already well-known to many parishioners. Father Rodolfo has been
assisting with the celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass and ministry to the Brazilian
Community of our parish. Father Rodolfo will be a great asset to serve the ministerial needs of our
parishioners.

In addition to these changes, Bishop Pohlmeier has reassigned Father Sebastian to St. Madeline in
High Springs effective July 1. Father David Ruchinski will be the new pastor of St. Joseph,
effective July 1. Father David is currently the pastor of St. Augustine Catholic Church and Student
Center in Gainesville. Please pray for all our priests as they prepare for their new assignments.
